Typography

Our primary font is Telenor Evolution. It is custom-designed for us, entirely unique, and serves as a cornerstone of our identity.

It’s both friendly and impactful and comes with two beautiful cuts, one for brand and one for UI. Both streams are united but have elements that service their particular requirements. Aside from its functional uses, our new typeface also takes inspiration from our symbol within the letterforms and has connected elements (ligatures) that are inspired by our strategic platform.

Options & usage

To create cohesive communication, it is important to keep our typography simple and consistent. When sizes and different weights of our font are mixed too much, the impression often becomes cluttered.

In external communication, we should never mix more than three sizes at the same time. Also, try to minimize the amount of text as much as possible.

On this page and the following pages, you will find settings and rules designed to make it easy to create consistent communication.

Elevated type

Headline

Elevated is our go to expression for Norway. To create elegant and sophisticated applications we scale down the type, putting the emphasis on other elements such as imagery. We use Telenor Evolution light or medium on light backgrounds and Telenor Evolution regular or bold on dark or photographic backgrounds.

  1. The headline can split across the two panels and is centre aligned. Body copy is also centre aligned and sits at the bottom of one of the panels.
  2. The headline sits on one panel and is horizontally centred and left aligned. Body copy is also left aligned and sits at the bottom of the same panel.
  3. The headline sits at the top of one panel and is left aligned. Body copy is also left aligned and sits at the bottom of the same panel.

Note: Body copy never overlaps between two panels.

Impactful type

To create eye-catching and impactful applications we scale up the type. For these bold applications we use Telenor Evolution extra bold.

  1. A title can be split across the two panels. The first half of the headline sits at the top of the first panel and is left aligned. The second half of the headline sits at the bottom of the second panel and slightly overlaps to the first panel. The second half of the headline can be either left or centre aligned. Body copy is left aligned and sits at the bottom of the panel.
  2. The headline is left aligned and is horizontally centred to the panel. Body copy is also left aligned and sits at the bottom of the panel.
  3. The headline is left aligned and sits at the top of the panel. The type can overlap to the second panel. Body copy is also left aligned and sits at the bottom of the same panel.

Note: Body copy never overlaps between two panels.
